Pink DS Features
It may have taken the world by storm with its huge range of genuinely innovative new games but there’s no denying that
the Nintendo DS is not exactly the most portable of portable consoles. But Nintendo have decided to change that image
with the sleek and sexy update that is the pink DS Lite console.
Enter the DS Lite
The original handheld console offering from Nintendo, the DS, was viewed as a bit of a white elephant by sceptics and critics in the gaming industry. The gimmicky UI and poorly powered graphics processor marked the DS out as a potential embarassment for Nintendo. Roll forwards a few years and... over 15 million sales later and those original critics are eating their words. The next step in the Nintendo handheld console evolution is the DS Lite. The Lite is fully compatible with all existing Nintendo DS (and Game Boy Advance) games but it has one advantage - it's smaller, sleeker and lighter. On top of this, the new design perfectly matches that of the Nintendo Wii console. The most impressive feature is the new backlit screens which offer the sharpest image ever seen on a portable console. The DS Lite is available in three separate colours: White, Black and, most importantly for you, the Pink DS Lite. Most exciting feature: The DS Lite now has four brightness settings – the highest is brighter than even the PSP and is clearly visible in any lighting condition. That sound? That'll be Sony executives running to the hills - wearing sunglasses.
The Nintendo DS is the fast selling console ever in Japan. When the DS Lite was released, it sold out instantly, with queues of over 1,000 people a common sight.
The bottom line: The DS gets a face lift to become Nintendo’s best looking portable ever. - Harrison Dent
Nintendo DS Lite brings you all the unique features of the Nintendo DS but also offers users a large variety of distinctive changes. These features set the DS Lite Pink which truly sets it apart from other handheld consoles.
Nintendo DS Lite retains the advanced touch screen technology - this allows gamse players to control software with either a stylus or their finger, as well as dual screens, voice recognition and the bundled Wi-Fi capability of the Nintendo DS but in a much smaller and lighter package than the original DS. The Nintendo DS Lite is the latest edition of Nintendo's video game but this is scheduled to be superceded in March 2009 with the launch of the Nintendo DSI.
