But Nintendo have decided to change that image with the sleek and sexy update that is the pink DS Lite console.

The original handheld console offering from Nintendo, the DS, was viewed as a bit of a white elephant by sceptics and critics in the gaming industry. The gimmicky UI and poorly powered graphics processor marked the DS out as a potential embarassment for Nintendo. Roll forwards a few years and... over 15 million sales later and those original critics are eating their words. The next step in the Nintendo handheld console evolution is the DS Lite. The Lite is fully compatible with all existing Nintendo DS (and Game Boy Advance) games but it has one advantage - it's smaller, sleeker and lighter.
